Dave Clark
What you do:
30 years experience in radio and television serving in all capacities from ownership, sales, management, programming, production and on-air presentation. From 1987 to 1999, I served as a media specialist with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, first in South Africa and, later, in Central Asia. I initially operated a studio in Edenvale and expanded for a time into Hillbrow, Johannesburg, assisting in the formation of HOPE-FM immediately after President Mandela deregulated the airwaves. Medical needs of a child required relocating back to the U.S.; however, I have never lost my love for South Africa and a desire to continue to be of service. During the past 22 years I transitioned to serving America after the 9/11 attacks, working as a security clearance background investigator.
I am semi-retired now but busy leveraging skills and experience for the greater good of the gospel. This month I am launching an internet radio station, Upward Path Radio, to serve my local community here in Canon City, CO. During the past decade I have also recorded about 60 audiobooks for publishers on Audible.com from a home studio.
I maintain three websites:
DaveClarkMedia.com (for promoting audiobook narration and production services);
ThePowerline.net (in support of a series of 13 half-hour programs recorded with South African youth); and, finally,
UpwardPath.org (in support of the new internet radio station expected to launch by the first of March).
Reason for joining the ACM:
My reason for becoming a member of ACM is to be a programming and encouraging resource for interested members.
